Deep Sea Fishing

Relying on a professional guide means obtaining:

• Safety on the high sea and deep waters beyond 30 metres
• Indications on where to practise deep sea fishing based on seasons, currents and species
• Advanced techniques for deep sea trolling, drifting and bottom fishing
• Advice on equipment, baits and rigs for pelagic predators
• Personalised experience according to level, target species and duration

Deep sea fishing is practised far from the coast, in deep waters of at least 30 metres where the great pelagic predators concentrate. In Italy, the best areas for deep sea sport fishing include both the open sea along the main coasts and the deeper areas near underwater canyons, shoals and seabeds rich in biodiversity.

Among the main areas for deep sea fishing:

• shoals and submerged ridges - ideal habitats for dentex, amberjack and grouper, which hold near the seabed contours;
• underwater canyons and deep drops - perfect for tuna, albacore and pelagic fish that follow nutrient-rich currents;
• pelagic transit areas off the coasts - where mahi-mahi, bonito and other predators pass according to season and water temperature.
